This local Bay Area cause is worth your support.

Dear Friends:  Usually I post facts about real estate, this time I’m reaching out for a different reason!  I’m an admirer of Dr. Vivek Murthy, Surgeon General from 2014 – 2017; Dr. Murthy is eloquent on many topics but the one which surprised me and caught my interest was his talk on Loneliness and how it’s an epidemic leading to a variety of health care issues, you can read/listen to him here:

With Dr. Murthy’s advice to build community in the work force, and other places, I took it to heart when my friends, Santosh and Esha, approached me about a new community being created in Fremont, namely a Community Center and Temple right off Automall Parkway, the escrow has closed and City permits are being obtained to create a place of worship, congregation, service, love, brotherhood and giving back to the community.

I just love that in this day and age where life moves so quickly, there’s a group of people looking to create a physical space to foster togetherness and community via children’s programs, youth clubs, toastmaster programs, free workshops, spiritual teachings, to mention a few.  Take a look at the following link for more info about this non-profit group:

Buying any type of property in the Bay area is super expensive, and creating a community center is no less so.  The cost of this building was $2.45M and the renovation will be $500,000–ouch (and this doesn’t take into account the thousands of hours volunteers have put into having this dream happen)!  So, in the spirit of helping create a community (or even to be aware it’s in process and maybe you’ll come visit one day!), please help make this dream of a community come true; help combat loneliness by being a part of creating something worthwhile.  Thank you for any and all donations!

Following are some thoughts from my two friends, Santosh and Esha, who support this endeavor and brought it to my attention.

Santosh “JKYog has taught me how to conquer my inner enemies and live a life of peace and harmony.  The teachings have helped me understand the power of thoughts, how to break bad habits and focus on being good, not to be called good.  It’s taught me to be a positive person and enjoy every moment of my life to the fullest.   It’s a blessing to be a part of this organization.”

Esha “Live a healthier, wealthier, more fulfilling, passionate and purposeful life – whether that means achieving in business, reigniting your relationship or discovering who you really are.  One-on-one coaching programs, training systems and group workshops will help close the gap between where you are and where you want to be.  The teachings have helped me immensely.”

In closing, I like to think that Dr. Murthy would approve and be proud of the community being created!  Please help either by donation or forwarding this message to your friends and community.  Thank you!
