Snapshot of the Bay Area Real Estate Market
Working with a new buyer is always rewarding, it’s part educating them and part going on a treasure hunt together, the reward being their new home! One of the most often asked questions is how far their purchasing power will take them, and where it’s most likely they will be able to afford a home.
Looking at the two charts here, it’s pretty obvious that if a buyer wants a single family house and it has to be within $1,000,000, then San Jose is where that can still be found, specifically the Alum Rock area, which currently shows 20 houses for sale under $1,000.000.
Alternatively, if someone specifically wants a house in Los Altos, then they will need to be looking in the $3,000,000+ range.
Taking a global look at information like this gives buyers a dose of reality, saving them time looking in areas which will not get them the property they want.
