Areas Average DOM Sold
Unlike other cities on the Peninsula, parts of San Jose are still affordable. While West San Jose (with it’s excellent schools), Almaden Valley (visualize larger lots, views, and cleaner air), and Willow Glen (great downtown and strong community feel) are areas selling with an average sale price of well over $2Million, other areas are more affordable.
Alum Rock and South San Jose are still areas where the average sale price of a house is under $1.2Million. Compared to most every other part of the country, this isn’t exactly a low price, yet it is for the Bay area; for buyers looking for a starter home, these prices make home buying possible.
Every community in San Jose saw an increase in average sale price and a reduction in days on market. Central San Jose saw a whopping 20.1% increase, while Almaden Valley saw a more modest increase of 2.4%. High interest rates aside, real estate continues to be where people place their money.
