1st Quarter Trends – 2023 Compared to 2024

1st Quarter Trends – 2023 Compared to 2024

With the year’s first quarter behind us, I thought I’d do a comparison with year-to-date 2024, and same time 2023, here are some takeaways in the cities I track:

  • Every city except Los Altos has increased in its average sale price, and let’s face it, Los Altos is so highly priced it’s not surprising it dropped slightly, let’s see what happens as the year progresses
  • At an average sale price of $4,320,044, Los Altos can claim to hold the highest sale price
  • With an increase of 20.2%, the city of Santa Clara leads the way in sale price per cent increase over same time last year

Take a look at the cities in the chart and see how your property pricing has fared. This is for single family homes, in future I will be doing pricing for townhomes and condos too, and for the areas in San Jose.

Contrary to common belief, housing prices haven’t dropped in these core Silicon Valley cities, in fact pricing has gone up as inventory has remained low.
